What gets your employees up in the morning? More importantly, what drives them to do their best when they are at work? Do you know? Do you really know?<\/p>\n

If your team members understand their purpose and how it relates to their on-the-job satisfaction, chances are you will have motivated and high performing employees. They will have less conflict with their co-workers when they understand each other\u2019s driving forces.<\/p>\n

Eduard Spranger first defined six primary categories to define human motivation and drive in 1928.<\/p>\n

With TTI Success Insights\u2019 additional research into Spranger\u2019s original work, the 12 Driving Forces were established by looking at each motivator on a continuum and describing both ends. All of the 12 descriptors are based on six keywords, one for each continuum. The six keywords are:<\/p>\n

  2. Utility<\/li>\n
  3. Surroundings<\/li>\n
  4. Others<\/li>\n
  5. Power<\/li>\n
  6. Methodologies<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    When individuals are able to clarify and amplify some of the driving forces in their lives, good things can happen for them and their organizations. Let\u2019s take a closer look at these six areas from which people derive the self motivation to do what they do and see how this can apply to the people on your team.<\/p>\n

    Number 1: Knowledge \u2013\u00a0how a person accesses and uses knowledge.<\/span><\/h2>\n

    This area is divided into two ends: instinctive and intellectual.<\/p>\n
