Bartlett Tree Experts<\/a>, Stamford, Connecticut, has acquired tree care businesses Living Tree Inc., West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Kirchner Tree Service, Ellicott City, Maryland. The acquisitions were completed as a move to extend and enhance Bartlett\u2019s East Coast presence.<\/p>\n

Bartlett has 149 operations in 39 U.S. states, Canada, Ireland and Great Britain. Finalized Oct. 7, its new West Chester location joins the company\u2019s over 20 offices in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis acquisition allows us to better service the areas between West Chester and Reading, Pa.,\u201d says John Smithmyer, vice president of Bartlett\u2019s Mid-Atlantic Division. \u201cLiving Tree, LLC. has prided itself on providing mature tree preservation for many years. The business was a natural fit for us because they had a similar philosophy to ours: doing great tree work with an emphasis on excellent customer service.\u201d<\/p>\n

The West Chester office will allow Bartlett to extend its tree and shrub care services in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrowth through acquisition continues to be a strong path forward for us,\u201d says Jim Ingram, president and chief operating officer of Bartlett Tree Experts. \u201cAdding resources in southeastern Pennsylvania assists us in providing a full range of scientific tree and shrub care services for our customers to maintain beautiful, healthy landscapes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Completed Sept. 24, Bartlett\u2019s new Ellicott City location joins the company\u2019s 10 additional offices in Maryland.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis acquisition allows us to really expand in this important growth market,\u201d says Smithmyer. \u201cKirchner Tree Service has an outstanding reputation and was a natural fit for us because of our shared philosophies with an emphasis on exceptional customer service, quality and safety.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ellicott City office will allow Bartlett to extend into Howard and Baltimore counties in Maryland.<\/p>\n
